Health and Safety

Health & safety is highly valued at Colt DCS, and there is no exception with the Colt Mumbai Data Centre team.
In the construction of this new hyperscale facility, great responsibility is placed on the health and safety of all employees, staff, and workers on site to ensure everyone goes home to their families uninjured every day.

Therefore, a number of comprehensive health & safety and quality control programmes have been implemented by the team. This includes a wide range of protocols throughout the project to manage and control risk such as:

  • Design based approach for safety first – eliminate the risk even before the works start

  • Thorough risk assessment for each activity with implementation of control

  • Health & safety briefings with complete training provided

  • De-briefing sessions to share best practices and lessons learned

  • Safety promotional activities with award and reward recognition

  • Implementation of Behavior Based Systems (BBS)

  • Regular site inspections and addressing the observations with plans of action

  • Risk based approach to managing safety

  • Maintenance of equipment and materials through periodic schedules

  • Independent health & safety reviews and audits on a regular basis

  • Robust permit to work system

As a result of these initiatives, the Colt Mumbai Data Centre team are proud to announce that they have successfully achieved over two million safe working hours (the 2nd major health and safety milestone achieved in 2022, having hit the one million mark in February earlier that year).

“The health & safety of our people and partner workforces in Mumbai has been essential to our success. By implementing the right standards, processes and measures across the design, build and operation of this site has allowed us to demonstrate our commitment towards health & safety, and be rewarded at the same time”.
